~ Coach McMahon STONEWALL RAIDERS with HIGHLAND HAWKS having a great 2018 virginia elite lacrosse fall season10/14/2018 The Brigade Youth Lacrosse program is asking for current high school lacrosse players to assist with lacrosse clinics this upcoming Sunday, September 23rd from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Grizzly Sports Complex. This lacrosse program feeds into all of the local high schools on our end of the county. I am hopeful that we can have as many current Stonewall lacrosse players volunteer at this clinic for several reasons. Assisting with this clinic will allow us to show these current youth lacrosse players, their parents, and the local lacrosse community how great of a lacrosse program we are. You the players and you the parents of these amazing young men have established an excellent brand of hard work, service to our community, and success in the classroom, on the lacrosse field, and after graduation from high school. Let's show the lacrosse community what we are all about and take advantage of this opportunity to invite others to join our Stonewall family. Please let me or Coach O know if you plan on helping out with this clinic.
Date/Time: Sunday, September 23rd from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Location: Grizzly Sports Complex 10600 Determination Drive Nokesville, VA 20181 Thank you, -- Sean McMahon Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Stonewall Jackson High School Message from Coach McMahon: Please pay close attention to the incoming weather and school/event updates from Prince William County. If school or after school events are cancelled due to weather related conditions then we will not have after school workouts. I will try to send out an email as soon as possible cancelling lacrosse workouts as well.
Update from Coach McMahon: Fall workouts will begin on Monday September 10th. We will be working out/doing lacrosse activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Players please bring athletic gear, tennis shoes, and cleats. If there are any changes I will send out an email as soon as possible.
We proudly salute Ourisman Chantilly Kia, an outstanding supporter of SJ Boys Lacrosse, for providing top class service and products to the entire community. The McCullers story bears testament to the power of giving back:
"I could probably write an essay on what an amazing experience we had buying Kaylah a car from Ourisman Chantilly KIA. We dread the whole car buying experience. But Billy Brown and his professional and trustworthy team made it way too simple for us. They talked to us about financing vs leading. They never pressured us as we took a few weeks to pick the right car for our daughter, Kaylah. Then to top it off I took my 2013 KIA to get a repair yesterday and the service team is like the sales team - professional and trustworthy. We cannot say enough on how pleased we are to be Ourisman Chantilly KIA customers!" #OurismanKIA #KIA4Life #SupportOurRaiders ~ Tracey McCuller Hello all!
I can't believe that we are already well into August! I wanted to send out another email to everyone to make sure we are up to date as a program. Tomorrow night a recruiting seminar will be hosted at SJHS and all high school athletes are highly encouraged to attend. The seminar will be held in Stonewall's auditorium and begins at 7:30 PM. Click HERE for further information on this event. This is a friendly reminder of what our off-season schedule will look like. Summer workouts begin on Monday, August 13th at 6:30 PM. Summer workouts will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 PM until 8 PM. I am working with Mr. Turner about establishing a workout schedule once school starts. We will most likely have workouts immediately after school and will occur at least three times a week. Summer Workouts: Monday August 13th 6:30 PM - 8 PM Tuesday August 14th 6:30 PM - 8 PM Thursday August 16th 6:30 PM - 8 PM Monday August 20th 6:30 PM - 8 PM Tuesday August 21st 6:30 PM - 8 PM Thursday August 23rd 6:30 PM - 8 PM School starts August 27th VEL player registration is currently open and we need players! Dues are currently $185 and prices will go up on September 5th. Again the goal is to have our own team however we need at least 21 registered players. We do encourage fall sport athletes to participate in VEL with the understanding that priority will go to a fall sport event if it conflicts with a VEL game. Please save the date for the Fall Brawl which is scheduled to take place on Saturday November 17th. This is a one day 7 v 7 tournament. Finally the "One of Us" new student orientation is scheduled for August 23rd from 3 PM - 6 PM. The lacrosse team will have a booth and we would love to have as many players as possible representing our great program. Boys, you as current players are the program's best recruiters. You all have worked incredibly hard throughout your high school careers to establish a reputation of being organized, hard working, and successful young men and are often viewed as role models for others. Coach O and I will be in attendance and will provide jerseys for players to wear while working at the orientation. For those who have not heard my personal story about this orientation event, I attended my freshman "One of Us" orientation in August of 2005. I had played baseball for 10 years and assumed that I would play baseball for Stonewall as a high school athlete. The boys lacrosse team dominated the athletics booth area and naturally drew a lot of attention. Seeing so many current players give up one of their last days of summer to represent their program showed how important this program is. I quickly gathered as much Stonewall Lacrosse information at this event and the rest is history. I cannot wait for off-season work to begin! It will be a busy but productive off-season and our success as a program will be determined by everyone's participation. As always please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you, -- Sean McMahon Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Stonewall Jackson High School Parents and student athletes grades 9-12 interested in learning more about the college recruiting process - this Rick Ware/Dynamite Sport Recruiting Seminar is a great opportunity available right here at our school.
Good morning,
I wanted to provide everyone an update to our Summer and Fall off-season plans. Spring sports has a Red period (no contact with coaches/team activities) coming up. This period will start on July 30 and ends on August 8th. After the red period, we WILL start off-season workouts and skill building. Starting on Monday August 13th, we will have team activities on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 pm - 8:00 PM at Stonewall. Players please bring athletic apparel (shirts/shorts/shoes etc) and equipment such as sticks, gloves, and helmets. Participation in off-season activities promotes individual growth, team chemistry, and will result in a more successful spring season. I am still working on arranging a Fall workout schedule and will let everyone know when the schedule is completed. Additionally, I wanted to let all know that Stonewall is hosting a face to face concussion training tomorrow night (7/25/18) at 7 pm in the school's auditorium. Attending this face to face training is required for all NEW players/families and highly recommended for all returning players/families. Completing this annual training is required and it doesn't hurt to check this box sooner rather than later. Coach O and I will be present at this training as well and would love to meet all new and returning players and their families. I am very excited to start our off-season program and hope to see as many players on the 13th! Go Raiders! -- Sean McMahon Boys Lacrosse Head Coach Stonewall Jackson High School |
