Hi all:
If you haven't already - please visit the website www.sjraiderslacrosse.org that our own Brenden Hogan set up! He did a fabulous job and it's something that we can all use for reference from here on out. He's got game times/results listed, a Coaches Corner, and will add the information for meal sign ups so if you forget later in the season you can go here to remind yourself of your date. Please refer to our Boosters and Volunteers Tab to see the most recent meal schedule. THANK YOU parents that have already volunteered! We still have a few games open so please check your schedules and let me know what works for you! MEAL TIMES: Please be at the school to set up for HOME games by 3:30 pm and by 3:00 pm for AWAY games. The players eat in the first floor cafeteria which you can access from the back by the trailers. You can even park (temporarily) close to the door while you unload. Please let your player know via text when you're close as someone will need to open the door and the boys will come out and help bring stuff in. Your son will also need to get the key to the faculty storage room from Coach Ward where our LAX bin containing plates, napkins, disinfectant wipes and plastic utensils is located. There are NO serving utensils in there so if you need any for what you're serving, you'll need to bring your own. If it's your turn and you notice we're low on something in the bin - please let me know ASAP so I can get it restocked. NUMBERS: Please be prepared to feed between 33-35 people between players, coaches and team managers. I usually bring extra because these boys definitely have appetites -- especially before a big game! MEAL SUGGESTIONS:
We have had innovative (brave) parents in years past that have reached out to local restaurants to provide donations for meals. Even if they do not flat out provide the whole meal, many (if not most!) will give you a discount if you tell them it is for our local school. You can tell them that we will acknowledge their business on our team website to promote them. HOMEMADE SUGGESTIONS: I know the boys love pasta, fresh salads and fruit , etc. Pretty much anything that is going to give them energy but not really weigh them down or have them running to the bathroom :) Also, anything that will keep warm in a crock pot is great as we don't have access into the kitchen to warm up the food. Honestly, these boys are so happy to be fed -- they're pretty easy going on what you put in front of them - haven't seen a one of them turn a nose in 3 years :) ALLERGIES: Do we have any players with any food allergies? Please let us know ASAP so we can accommodate them in meal planning. Hunter LeClair can not have wheat or gluten (which is in everything just about). He's good about knowing what he can/can't eat but even if it's a sub , he can't just pull the meat off and eat it. If you're providing the meal, just let me know what you're thinking of serving and I'll have something for him that's similar and if possible, get it to you the evening before because I can't get to the school. DRINKS: Part of providing the meal is to have water and Gatorade for the players/coaches/managers as well. We do bottles so that we don't need to have plastic cups to worry about. RECEIPTS: Remember to save your receipts and turn them in to me. You'll be reimbursed up to $300.00 from the team meal account. Please let me know if I forgot anything or if you have any questions. Go Raiders!! Stephanie LeClair
